Healing doesn't end when a transplant surgery is over. It continues through every step of recovery, every milestone reached, and every moment spent surrounded by the people who care. As Angela Martin returned home following her extended stay at VCU, we were honored to celebrate not just a homecoming, but a community that has walked alongside her every step of the way.

Some moments are impossible to put into words. After a long and challenging liver transplant journey, we stood alongside Sonya and Jason as they pulled into their driveway and began this new chapter at home. It was a celebration of resilience, healing, and a community that never stopped believing.

Voices That Heal is a new community connection initiative by Healing Words created to bring together transplant recipients, living donors, donor families, caregivers, and loved ones in a space of encouragement and shared experience. Through storytelling, conversation, and community support, this gathering offers a place to connect, reflect, and remind one another that no one walks the transplant journey alone.

Roy Enslow’s journey is one of resilience, faith, and hope in the middle of uncertainty. As he officially begins the wait for a kidney transplant and searches for a living donor with O blood type, our community is coming together to stand beside him. This story is a reminder that healing is never meant to be faced alone—and that hope can still shine brightly, even in the waiting.
