Standing Beside Roy: A Story of Faith, Community, and Hope
Many of you may remember Roy Enslow from our Healing Words Kickoff Event, where he courageously shared part of his transplant journey and served as a member of our event committee. Roy has been a tremendous supporter of both Healing Words and the SML community, always showing up for others with compassion, encouragement, and strength.
Now, we are asking our community to show up for him.
Roy has officially been placed on the national kidney transplant list and is currently searching for a living kidney donor with O blood type.
For those who know Roy, you know his heart. Even while navigating his own health journey, he continues to carry hope not just for himself, but for others walking similar paths. His story has always been about more than waiting; it’s about resilience, faith, community, and learning to keep moving forward even in the uncertainty.
As Roy once shared:
“Some days are filled with hope and gratitude. Other days bring fatigue, uncertainty, and quiet fear. Through it all, I’ve learned that healing isn’t just physical—it’s emotional, spiritual, and deeply human.”
The reality of waiting for a transplant is something most people never fully see. The appointments, the exhaustion, the emotional weight of the unknown, and the constant hope for a call that could change everything.
Today, we are continuing to share Roy’s story in hopes that it reaches the right person.
If you feel led to learn more about becoming a living kidney donor for Roy, please contact Healing Words, and we will connect you with Roy!
In the meantime, we ask our Healing Words family and community to continue surrounding Roy with prayer, encouragement, and support. We want him to know what we hope every transplant recipient knows—that they are not walking this journey alone.
