Because of You: A Day of Giving, Hope, and Impact

Yesterday was a special day for Healing Words, and it’s all because of YOU.

Thanks to your incredible generosity—through our kickoff event on March 7 and SML Gives Day on March 18—we were able to give back in a meaningful way. We are honored to share that we presented $5,000 checks to both The Doorways in Richmond, VA and Donate Life Virginia.

In addition, we prepared and delivered gift bags for transplant patients at the hospital as part of our Meals of Hope program. Meals of Hope exists to provide transplant recipients and their caregivers with a paid meal and a meaningful moment of comfort. Each bag includes gift cards to local restaurants for individuals who are currently in the transplant process.

This program is about so much more than a meal—it fosters emotional support and peer connection, offering encouragement, reassurance, and a reminder that families are seen, valued, and not alone on the transplant journey. Each meal reflects the power of community coming together to uplift hearts and strengthen resilience during challenging times.
